Combat combines Emma's real-time sword actions with Koo's command-based techniques. Successful parries connect the two systems by generating the points required to activate Koo's abilities.
The central combat loop in Beast of Reincarnation is built around reading attacks, parrying with Emma and converting the earned points into Koo techniques. Opening Koo's command menu slows the action, allowing players to assess the battlefield before selecting their next move.

In Japan in the year 4026, Emma and Koo meet in the eastern lands and begin a journey toward the far West. Along the way, they hunt Nushi, absorb their power and uncover the secrets carried by the people around them.
